Traumatic Brain Injury Program

A traumatic brain injury (TBI) can be a life-altering experience. TBI has long-term consequences and may cause enduring physical, emotional, intellectual, and social changes for survivors and their families. It is not specific to any one socioeconomic, cultural, or ethnic class. It can happen to individuals of any gender and at any age.

The Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS) is proud to serve as the state's lead agency for coordination of services for Alabamians with TBI . Through its comprehensive array of agency programs and other public and private partners, ADRS can meet many needs. Services may include, but are not limited to, information and referral, educational assistance, pre-vocational resources, employment assistance, and extended support provision. ADRS continues to investigate the changing needs of consumers in an effort to enhance current services for a higher quality of life.
