Vocational Evaluation is designed to measure an individuals strength's and weaknesses, consider interests and abilities, and provide the individual with information that can be used in vocational planning for the future. ADRS consumers are eligible for this statewide service upon referral.
There are several ways an evaluation can be completed, including group evaluation, one-on-one evaluations, functional assessments, specialized assessments, deaf/hard-of-hearing assessments, and blind/low-vision assessments. Test results are presented in a staffing where all data obtained (which also includes an intake interview) are reviewed, analyzed and assessed for recommendations. A conference is held, either locally or in the consumers’ home area, in which all recommendations are presented. Other recommendations may emerge of this meeting as this is also a planning session.
