Accommodations in the Workplace

The majority of people with disabilities in today’s workforce DO NOT need accommodations to be productive and “qualified” to perform the essential functions of their job. For those applicants and employees who do need accommodations, ADRS can provide cost-effective solutions.

While some employees with disabilities may know what accommodations they require and where to get them, many do not. ADRS is your solution. We can provide no-cost rehabilitation technology services to employers who have job applicants or employees with accommodation needs through our statewide team of rehabilitation engineers. These services include:

  • physical and functional capacities assessments 
  • workplace modification and design 
  • ergonomic information 
  • job task analysis 
  • product modification and design 
  • accommodation recommendations and assistance with implementation 

COST OF ACCOMMODATIONS VARIES

According to the Job Accommodation Network (JAN), the average cost of a job accommodation for a person with a disability is $200.
